Falk Baron Rausch von Traubenberg, falk.brvt,
ein liebenswerter Künstlerkollege,
ein charmanter Freund,
ein Kreativschaffender, seit ich ihn kenne.

Ich habe die Ehre, ein Statement zu seiner künstlerischen Arbeit zu verfassen. Das mache ich deshalb gern, da mich seine Arbeiten immer wieder ob ihrer Vielfalt und Kraft staunen ließen. Mit Bedacht wählt Falk das Quadrat als Grundform seiner Werke. Bedeutet dieses auch hier sinnbildlich ein Zusammenwirken der einzelnen Elemente im Bild. Das Quadrat bildet historisch die Grundgestalt der Plätze, Orte. Eingefangen wurden durch Falk beispielsweise situative Szenen eines Theatergeschehens. Gleichzeitig dienen die Bildelemente dieses quadratischen Entwurfes jeweils einer bestimmten Bildaussage. Es ist hier die Prägnanz des Augenblicks, die fasziniert.
Falk nimmt den Betrachter auch mit auf eine Zeitreise.

„Gedankengang“ gibt Anlass nachzudenken, was uns im Laufe der Zeit als Mensch begegnet. Wie nehme ich mich im sozialen Kontext wahr? Was spielt sich in meinem Inneren ab? Welche „Zeitfenster“ einer künstlerischen Epoche öffnet uns der Künstler? Stellvertretend für den Betrachter stellt Falk sich als Mensch in den Fokus seines fotografischen Bildraumes. Es zeigen sich verschiedene Einschnitte, Abschnitte eines künstlerischen Weges, die in ihrer Wandlungsfähigkeit wiederum als Elemente eines Ganzen erscheinen, eines übergeordneten virtuellen Quadrates, das man die Acht im Quadrat nennen kann. Dabei lässt Falk unserer Wahrnehmung Freiräume der Interpretation, indem er seine Bildaussagen auf ein Minimum reduziert. Seine Bildelemente sind dem Betrachter philosophische Denkanstöße.

an endearing artist colleague,
a charming friend,
a creative professional since i met him.

it is an honour to be writing a statement about his artistic work. the reason why i appreciate doing that so much is his works never ceasing to astonish me in their diversity and power. with consideration, he has chosen the square as the fundamental shape of his works. it emblematically signifies the coaction of the individual elements within the image. historically, the quadrangle constitutes the base form of squares, locations. falk has, for example, captured situative scenes of a theatre play. simultaneously, each of the pictorial elements of this square-based concept serves a specific meaning of the image. it is the conciseness of the moment that is fascinating here.
falk also takes the viewer along on a journey through time.

“line of thought” prompts the pondering about what we, as human beings, encounter in the course of time. how do i perceive myself in the social context? what is happening in my interior? which “time windows” of an artistic epoch does the artist open for us? representing the viewer, falk positions himself as a human figure in the focus of the pictorial space of his photographs. several turning points appear, sections of an artistic path, which, in their versatility, show as elements of a whole, of a superordinate virtual square that can be referred to as eight squared. by focusing the image message on the essence, falk leaves interpretative liberties to our perception. his pictorial elements are philosophic, thought-provoking impulses for the viewers.
